The Abia State House of Assembly has referred to rumours that the legislators intended to remove Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as incorrect.

The Deputy Speaker, Mr. Ifeanyi Uchendu, denied the rumours when speaking to reporters in Aba on Saturday, claiming that the legislators had never thought of such a scheme.

According to NAN, Uchendu advised the public to ignore the rumours and reaffirmed that the Assembly will continue to support the governor till the conclusion of his term.

Moreover, the majority leader, Mr. Solomon Akpulonu, said that the rumours came from troublemakers.

The Legislature, according to Akpulonu, was delighted with the accomplishments listed by Governor Ikpeazu, particularly in the area of infrastructure development.

Also, Mr. Chijioke Chukwu, the minority leader, claimed that those spreading the rumours were doing so in an effort to harm the state House of Assembly.
