In a recent episode of the ‘Afrobeats Podcast,’ renowned record producer ID Cabasa expressed his views on the ongoing conflict between new generation artists and legends in the Nigerian music industry.
The dispute initially arose when Burna Boy claimed that no Nigerian artist had paved the way for him.
This led to a social media frenzy, with rising rapper OdumoduBlvck and other new artists supporting Burna Boy, while Jaywon and other veterans stood by Eedris Abdulkareem.

Cabasa emphasized the importance of mutual understanding between the newbies and veterans for peace to prevail in the industry.
He stressed that the newcomers should respect the OGs (original gangsters) while the veterans should exhibit more honor.
Cabasa cautioned against viewing oneself as a competitor to the veterans, as it would compromise one’s integrity.
Furthermore, he urged music legends to offer support to young artists instead of being overly critical of them.
