He claimed that the current Nigeria demanded that those who served do it wisely and with a spirit of selfless dedication.

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 election, has urged Nigerian leaders at all levels of government to set an example by making sacrifices for a better Nigeria.

He was responding to a viral video that purportedly showed President Bola Tinubu arriving in Lagos on Tuesday from London with a convoy of roughly 120 cars.

Obi maintained that the size and duration of an official motorcade cannot be used to gauge the caliber of leadership. He said that a group of media ambushed him to ask him to comment on the footage, which he claimed he had not personally seen, at an event in Anambra State on Thursday.

He asserts that people who serve in Nigeria today must do it wisely and with a spirit of selfless dedication.

Because of the suffering of our people in our nation, we must have it in the back of our minds, he said, adding that the behavior, character, and attitude of the leaders must reflect the solutions to the problems affecting Nigerians.

The former governor of Anambra State urged the people to patiently endure the present hardship in exchange for a better future while also challenging the authorities to live more frugally and behave more responsibly for a better society.

Obi continued, “We must start by significantly reducing the cost of governance and invest in several facets of human development that would enhance the quality of life for our people.

When Tinubu arrived back in Lagos from London on Tuesday, APC leaders and supporters greeted him at the airport, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff to the president, Olukayode Egbetokun, the acting inspector general of police, Nuhu Ribadu, and senators and representatives from Lagos State.

The President’s convoy then traveled from Ikeja to Bourdillon, his private mansion in Ikoyi.
