Lawmakers and others praise Tinubu for being appointed DTAC DG
President Bola Tinubu has received praise for choosing Dr. Yusuf Yakub as the new Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC) from current and former lawmakers at the Federal and state levels.
This was stated in a statement sent to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Nkem Anyata-Lafia.
The President was characterised by the parliamentarians as a leader who recognised potential and knew how to apply it where it was most needed.
According to the report, Hon. Kwamoti Laori, Chairman of the House Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, led the group of fervent supporters for the nomination of the new D-G in Abuja.
The appointment was well deserved, according to Laori, a former deputy speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly who now represents Demsa/Numan/Lamurde in Abuja’s Green Chamber.
“Yakub, as an expert administrator and lawmaker, you undoubtedly have the necessary experience and knowledge to bring about the necessary change at DTAC.
He asked God to provide Yakub the knowledge he needed to fulfil his new duty, it said.
Additionally, it cited Aliyu Boya, Chairman, House Committee on Federal Colleges of Education, who expressed hope for the director-general’s ability to carry on the admirable work for which he was recognised and inspire those around him in a letter of congratulations.
“Knowing your credentials, your unwavering dedication to public service, leadership, ethics, and vision, which have earned you this appointment, I am not shocked by your appointment to this post.
“I am always impressed by the passion and energy that you bring to your work,” it read.
He said that in a related event, Tinubu had received praise for the selection from a group led by Hon. Ja’afar Magaji, a former federal politician who had served as the representative for Mubi North/Mubi South/Maiha in the 9th House of Representatives.
“Magaji praised the former Adamawa-born Rep’s dedicated contribution to humanity and wished him luck at the Agency.
“Others were, Hon. Abdullahi Speaker, Hon. Rufa’i Gombi, a former member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, and Comrade Adamu Barama, Senor Special Assistant on Political and Legislative Matters to Magaji,” he said. (NAN)
