Lawmaker reverses decision and rejoins PDP after defecting during rivers crisis

After defecting to the All Progressives Congress, or APC, Linda Somari Stewart, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has reversed her decision.

Along with other House members, Stewart, the State Assembly representative for Okrika, defected to the APC and has since returned to the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP.

Remember that 27 state legislators who were reportedly loyal to Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have joined the APC.

The Speaker of the House proclaimed their seats empty when they defected.

This happened after Wike and Governor Sim Fubara, his successor, squared off.
