Malumfashi/Karfu Federal Constituency of Katsina State representative Babangida Ibrahim has expressed concern about the concentration of federal hospitals in Daura, the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ibrahim requested that the proposed federal medical center in Daura be shifted to Funtua in a motion he made on Thursday to the federal minister of health.

In his motion, the senator said that Daura has the Nigerian Air Force hospital, but the Funtua region doesn’t have even one government hospital.

The Federal Government built the Nigerian Air Force Reference Hospital as a world-class hospital in August 2019 to stop people from going abroad for medical care.

Even though Daura is close to Katsina and has an Air Force Reference Hospital, he said that leaving the Federal Medical Center there would hurt the large number of people in the state.

The lower chamber agreed with his motion and decided that the FMC Daura should be moved to Funtua.

Remember that Daura also received a federal transportation university under President Buhari?
