Bolaji Oreagba was fired by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and replaced as General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
The appointment of Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the acting general manager of LASTMA was authorised by the governor with immediate effect.
According to a statement released by Olawale Musa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan’s appointment is intended to improve performance, eliminate staff misbehaviour, and maintain efficient and effective traffic control on Lagos roadways.
Beginning his career on April 25, 2000, Bakare-Oki progressed through the ranks of the Lagos State Public Service, holding the position of Deputy Director, Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA, prior to his recent appointment as General Manager.
He has attended multiple capacity-building workshops in intermodal traffic management systems both locally and internationally, and he holds a master’s degree in transportation planning and management from the University of Lagos.
Congratulating the recently appointed General Manager, Musa asked him to live up to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s trust by bringing his wealth of experience to bear and leading the Agency to new heights.
Additionally, Oreagba received words of gratitude and admiration from the Permanent Secretary for his excellent service to the state and his devotion and dedication.
It was learned that following his dismissal from the office, Oreagba was sent to the Ministry of Transportation.
