Laolu Gbenjo expresses that while gospel music is powerful, a world where everyone only sang gospel would lack the excitement of musical diversity.
Laolu Gbenjo, a Gospel artist has expressed his opinion on the variety of music genres. He believes that if everyone solely focused on performing gospel music, it would result in an unexciting world.
He stressed the significance of diversity in music during an interview on The Morning Brief show by Channels Television. He provided examples to support his point that various types of songs are required for different situations, such as love songs for weddings and celebratory praise tracks for happy events.
According to him, it’s important for us to be honest with ourselves. If everyone solely sings gospel music, the world would become dull and monotonous.

He acknowledged that during weddings or other joyous occasions such as those, it wouldn’t make sense for him to stick only to religious tunes; rather a mix of affectionate melodies and celebratory worship songs would fit perfectly in creating an atmosphere of merriment.
At times like these, after all – he affirmed- we’re simply celebrating life!
Alujo Special, a new niche, was inspired by the COVID-19 lockdown according to Gbenjo.
In his studio, he crafted bespoke songs for people who shared their pictures with him as a way to lift spirits during the lockdown.
He went on to disclose that he initiated his singing profession and acknowledged the impact of his father being a pastor.
“He said that he began singing due to his father’s occupation as a pastor.”
