Alhaji Olanrewaju Adepoju, a well-known Yoruba activist, poet, novelist, writer, and artist, has away.
At around 7 p.m., Lanrewaju Adepoju, as he was affectionately known, passed away in his Ibadan home at the age of 81, according to Obasanjo News24.

Until his passing, he was the Aaare Alasa of Ibadan land.
In a brief statement that Obasanjo News24 was able to receive on Monday, one of the children of the late poet and campaigner, Adejare Adepoju, acknowledged the deceased’s passing.
“Baba has gone to rest,” he declared.
