Landlord to serve life imprisonment for defiling tenant’s children
Igwe Ambrose, 65, was given a double life sentence by the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Monday for poking his fingers into his tenant’s children’s private areas, ages seven and eleven.
Judge Abiola Soladoye declared that Ambrose’s four counts of indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault by penetration had been established beyond a reasonable doubt by the prosecution.
Soladoye claimed that the defendant was a dirty old man who, despite appearing to provide the survivors help with their schooling, stroked and caressed their breasts in an inappropriate manner.

She claimed that the defendant had been identified and that the evidence provided by the survivor had exposed him as a dishonest, untrustworthy, and unreliable liar.
After the kids chose to be honest with their mother, she told her husband, who confronted the defendant and reported the incident to the police.
“The defendant was invited to the police station once the police arrived at the scene, where he refuted the accusations made against him.
Because the defendant was accused of violating Sections 135 and 261 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Laws, the judge ruled him guilty on all four counts.
Four witnesses were called by State Counsel Mrs. Olufunke Adegoke: two survivors, the mother of the survivors, and the IPO, which produced five exhibits.
The prosecution claims that between January and June of 2021, the defendant committed the offences at Shagari Estate in Ipaja, Lagos.
