Dr. Mustapha Sule Lamido, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor of Jigawa State, has stated that the party has accepted INEC’s decision to delay the upcoming elections.

This was said by Lamido on his official Facebook page on Thursday.

“We received the INEC decision to postpone the Governorship and State Assembly Elections in good faith,” he claimed.

In light of this, he advised the commission to use the time to address some of the issues that came up during the presidential and national assembly elections.

“However, we reiterate our appeal for the commission to rectify the numerous irregularities that call into question the Presidential and National Assembly Elections and may call into question the credibility of the upcoming elections.

I thus urge our followers to maintain peace and patience while working to persuade the public of our worthwhile proposals for Jigawa State.

I implore the populace to have faith in the validity of their ballots and to turn out in large numbers at the voting places on March 18, 2023.

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had moved forward the election scheduled for March 11th by one week to allow time for the BVAs used in the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25th, 2023, to be reconfigured.
