Xavi was speaking following the Catalans’ 5-3 league loss to Villarreal on Saturday.
Barca now trails rival Real Madrid by 10 points on the log as a result of the outcome.
Xavi claims that he discussed his decision with the board during their conversation.
“I will be leaving Barcelona in June,” he declared.
