Lakurawa: Nigerian Government Unveils Strategies to Defeat Terrorist Group

The Nigerian government reveals new strategies aimed at defeating the Lakurawa terrorist group, bolstering efforts to enhance national security. 

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has revealed the strategies that the Nigerian government plans to use in order to defeat the terror group Lakurawa.

Badaru mentioned that by deploying troops and providing additional equipment, the Nigerian government would successfully take control of Lakurawa.

Lakurawa has been behind the recent attacks and killings in Sokoto and Kebbi states.

Attacks by the terrorist group resulted in the deaths of 15 people and the theft of approximately 100 cattle in Mera, located within Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Nonetheless, the Minister stated that the Federal government has already developed its strategies to overcome the terror group.

In an interview with BBC Hausa Service, he expressed confidence that strategies have been developed to eliminate the new terror group. These plans include deploying additional equipment and troops to the affected areas in hopes of bringing a swift end, God willing.

Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, along with the Chiefs of Army, Naval, and Air Staff have convened to devise strategies. I am confident in their approach to addressing this issue. With your prayers and God’s will, we are determined to overcome and resolve this security challenge,” he stated

“In reviewing the past year, it’s clear we’ve achieved significant successes. However, as we strategize, they are also developing different tactics. Nevertheless, anyone familiar with the situation can attest to our accomplishments in this fight. We hope these advances continue until this security challenge is fully resolved.”

He assured that efforts are continuing to curb this threat and prevent the group from expanding into other states.
