According to the Lagos State Government, it would close down businesses that are generating environmental annoyance in the state, as well as bars, churches, clubs, and mosques.
On Tuesday in Lagos, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the commissioner for the environment and water resources, revealed this.
Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, the recently appointed general manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), and other directors of the organisation were present as Wahab spoke during a management meeting.

In accordance with global best practises, he advised the LASEPA management team to examine its operational strategy.
“I gave them the assignment to examine their operational plans in accordance with recognised best practises around the world.
“I have also ordered the zonal directors, monitoring and enforcement units to start strict enforcement and advocacy by closing any public venue (bars, churches, clubs, mosques, companies, among others) generating environmental nuisance throughout the state.
Wahab said, “This complies with the Lagos State Environmental Management Protection Law.”
