In Lagos, a 58-year-old man has tragically died while participating in a spiritual fast. Learn about the details of the incident and any subsequent actions taken.

It has been confirmed by the Lagos State Police Command that a 58-year-old man died while observing a spiritual fast.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the command, on Monday morning around 6:00 a.m., an incident took place in Lagos’ Alagbado neighborhood.

Later that day at around 7:00 p.m., the younger brother of the man reported his death to the Alagbado Police Division. He revealed that his sibling had passed away while engaging in a dry fasting period lasting 19 days.

According to SP Hundeyin, there are no indicators of any wrongful act in connection with the incident. Moreover, the family has expressed their desire to assume responsibility for interring the remains.
