Lagos Taskforce Raids Mile 2 Oke, Captures 2,000 Litres of Petrol

Lagos Taskforce has successfully seized 2,000 litres of petroleum products during a raid at Mile 2 Oke. Explore the specifics of this major enforcement effort.

Over 2,000 litres of petroleum products were confiscated as a result of the Lagos State Taskforce’s extensive operation in the Mile 2 Oke area on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.

The undertaking forms a component of a holistic attempt to address concerns related to the environment and security within the region.

Under the leadership of CSP Adetayo Akerele, who was directed by the Lagos State Government and CP Adegoke Fayoade, Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce conducted a raid.

Aligned with the THEMES PLUS agenda, prioritizing environmental preservation and safeguarding lives and property statewide, this initiative is in accordance.

The Oke area of Mile 2 has gained notoriety due to the significant traffic jams caused by numerous unauthorized roadside vendors and makeshift shelters.

Not only has the traffic flow been disrupted by these activities, but they have also led to a troubling surge in robberies and other criminal acts related to traffic. As a result, both motorists and commuters are at risk.

CSP Akerele emphasized the perilous nature of illegal petroleum vending on roadsides as it poses a substantial risk of fire incidents.

He stated that they had discussed one of the most urgent problems, which was the unlawful sale of petrol and diesel on the side of roads.

The authorities seized over 2,000 litres of petroleum products as a result. This is an extremely hazardous practice with a high risk of fire hazards and explosions.

It was guaranteed that such operations would be fully terminated in order to protect not only illegal vendors’ lives but also all people who use these roadways safely.

As a part of the operation, various unlawful structures were taken apart by The Taskforce and vendors were removed from the area.

During the raid, several items were seized and four suspects were apprehended.

The Chairman provided reassurance that the individuals who were taken into custody would face legal charges, and any seized possessions would be surrendered to the state government through lawful channels.

CSP Akerele reiterated the Taskforce’s dedication to upholding safety and maintaining order throughout Lagos State.
