Lagos Sees Increased Patrols by RRS and Task Force
Increased visibility patrols by the RRS and task force are now underway in Lagos. Learn about the goals and expected impact of this initiative.
To bolster safety measures and readiness for unforeseen events, the Rapid Response Squad of Lagos State Police Command has initiated a collaborative patrol with the Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences Enforcement Unit from Wednesday.
On Wednesday, X.com shared a statement and photos revealed by the RRS.

This morning, the Rapid Response Squad and Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce), led by Commander CSP Shola Jejeloye and Chairman CSP Adetayo Akerele respectively, conducted a joint visibility patrol coupled with fitness jogging to prepare its personnel for emergencies in the state.
The teams covered Ikeja, Old Toll Gate, Oshodi, Ojota, Iyana Oworo, Third Mainland Bridge, Victoria Island (VI), Ikoyi, Lekki as well as Lagos Island and Apongbon.
According to the RRS, there will be ongoing visibility patrols in various other areas within the state.
Amid online speculation, certain Nigerians on X.com have proposed the deployment of officers before the scheduled August 1st hunger protest.
