If their demands aren’t met, Lagos protesters plan a major return with full force on Monday. Read about their conditions and expected actions.
On Saturday, whilst congregating at Gani Fawehinmi Park, a coordinator from the Youth Rights Campaign conveyed the declaration.
The coordinator announced that if their requests were still unmet by Sunday night, the protestors would leave Ojota Park and take to the streets for a march, despite an earlier court decree limiting protests strictly within the park.
He stressed that they would be heading to Alausa, where the seat of power for the government is located.
In addition, he encouraged the locals to utilize Sunday as an opportunity to participate in religious services and invoke divine intervention for tranquility across the nation.
Additionally, he exhorted law enforcement personnel to keep a watchful eye on alleged troublemakers attempting to disturb the demonstrations.

To accommodate the protestors, law enforcement officials have blocked off the service lane on Ikorodu Road while leaving three other lanes open for drivers – including the BRT route. Over the past few days, traffic volume has increased significantly, particularly on Saturday.
Consequently, Ojota and its adjoining areas are seeing a resurgence in business activity as more stores recommence operations.
For the third day in a row, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State and other security agents have been on hand to ensure protester safety.
On Friday, no protesters were apprehended as reported by SP Benjamin Hundeyin who serves as spokesperson for The Command.
