The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos Police Command has reported the confiscation of 85 motorcycles as part of their ongoing crackdown on motorcycles operating on unauthorized routes within the state.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, verified this information through a post on his social media handle, @benHundeyin, last Friday.
The joint effort between RRS and the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) resulted in the seizure of the 85 motorcycles from various locations across the state on Thursday.
The operation, conducted by RRS in collaboration with the LAMATA Enforcement Team, targeted areas such as Ojodu Berger, Aguda (Ikeja), Iju Road, Agege, Iyana Ipaja Bridge, Abule Egba, and Ogba.

The operation was overseen by RRS Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who also led a previous operation that resulted in the impoundment of 257 motorcycles two weeks prior.
CP Adegoke Fayoade, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, emphasized that the command will continue to take action against individuals who violate traffic regulations in the state.
Fayoade assured that the enforcement efforts will be sustained until full compliance with the traffic laws of Lagos State is achieved, emphasizing that the command will not tolerate any defiance of the state’s regulations without facing consequences.
