Lagos police officer has been taken into custody on suspicion of sexually assaulting 17-year-old girl
The Lagos state police command has taken into custody one of its own officers in response to accusations of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl, a matter that has prompted the state commissioner of police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, to order a thorough investigation into the serious allegations.
In a statement released by the state police public relations officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the commissioner has assured the public that there will be no attempt to cover up the matter, emphasizing that such actions go against the Nigeria Police Force’s code of conduct and professional ethics.

Hundeyin also reiterated the command’s dedication to upholding justice and ethical behavior, stating that the officer in question will face the full force of police regulations and the law if found to be at fault.
