The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has set a deadline for issuing a ruling on petitions submitted to it following the 2023 election.

On Monday, September 25, the verdict will be announced.

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s nominee for governor, revealed this information on Saturday.

According to a post Rhodes-Vivour made on X, he has been informed that the decision will be made on Monday.

“We just learned that judgement on our election petition at the tribunal will be delivered on Monday, the 25th of September,” he wrote in a post.

Rhodes-Vivour petitioned the tribunal with separate petitions, as did Abdul-Azeez Adediran, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate.

The All Progressives Congress, APC governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s reelection is being challenged by the two parties, who are citing electoral fraud among other allegations.

They all want to be crowned the victor of the election.
