Lagos government evicts street vendors from Railway Corridors and closes Alamutu Market

In Yaba, the Lagos State authorities demolished improvised constructions that were impeding traffic flow.

On Tuesday, Tokunbo Wahab, the state’s commissioner for environment and water resources, announced this on his official X Twitter.

He said that the activity was carried out by members of the state’s Environmental Sanitation Corps and the Lagos Waste Management Authority.

According to OBASANJO NEWS24, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu inaugurated the Blue rail mass transit system’s commercial operations on September 4 of this year.

A connected occurrence, according to the Commissioner Wahab, was the sealing up of the Alamutu market at Idioro Mushin by state officials due to unsanitary circumstances.

He stated, “Earlier today (October 3), Alamutu (Ologede) market in Idi Oro, Mushin was sealed off because of its unsanitary circumstances and ineffective waste disposal practises.
