The Federal Ministry of Works will be performing repairs on the Marine Bridge, and as a result, the Lagos State Government has stated that it will be closed for 41 days.
The bridge will remain closed from November 10, 2023, until December 21, 2023.
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the commissioner of transportation, stated in a statement that drivers now have alternate routes available.
He said that traffic coming from Ijora/Apapa Road towards Mobil Road will be rerouted to Ijora in order to connect to Total Access Ramp and then go on Malu Road to Mobil Road in order to reach their intended destinations.

Osiyemi said that drivers heading towards Ijora/Apapa will be detoured to the bridge’s Apapa headed ramp, where they would need to turn around at Point Road Junction and enter the Marine Bridge to reach their intended locations.
In a similar spirit, drivers can continue their journeys by using the Marine Bridge Access Road to Area B and making a U-turn at Point Junction Road in the direction of Marine Bridge.
Osiyemi gave his word that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority would send out traffic personnel to control traffic and reduce annoyances.
He also pleaded with drivers to exercise patient when using the diversion routes.
