Lagos governor reinstates a 25% discount on food items and a 25% reduction on transport fares. Learn about these changes and their benefits for residents.

There are two significant undertakings, namely bringing back Sunday markets with a 25% rebate on foodstuff and decreasing transportation charges by 25%.

Moreover, hospitals are providing free medical outreach services and delivery aid to expectant mothers at no cost courtesy of the government.

An interview on TVC News saw the Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, make these announcements.

Prior to the recent #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests, Omotoso made it clear that these measures had already been established and were not implemented in response to the demonstrations.

According to Omotoso, the 25% discount on food items has remained a sought-after incentive amongst Lagosians and has benefitted millions of people.

He emphasized the state’s continuing initiatives to assist its people, such as vocational training schemes that have furnished myriad graduates with resources required for commencing their personal enterprises.

Omotoso acknowledged the protests and expressed that valuable lessons were learned by the government, emphasizing on effective communication and non-violence as crucial. He urged protesters to head back home while encouraging all parties involved to come together for discussion and resolution of pertinent issues at hand.
