Nine people have been detained by authorities in Lagos State for committing the act of open defecation in the Berger area.
On Friday, officials from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps arrested multiple individuals for engaging in open urination and defecation at Berger. Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, disclosed this information on Saturday via X.com: “Nine people were apprehended last night.”

Earlier, 17 people were apprehended on Thursday night in the same vicinity for committing comparable violations such as public urination, defecation, and neglecting to utilize the pedestrian bridge.
The Lagos State administration has once again expressed its determination to eliminate the practice of open defecation, as part of a wider effort aimed at enhancing and sustaining a clean and healthy environment for all inhabitants.
Furthermore, the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources is currently carrying out a sanitation exercise on the median strip along Ojodu-Berger highway as part of its relentless fight against open defecation.
