The All Progressives Congress, APC, was warned by Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, not to count on the support of Igbos in the Lagos election.
At a conference on Thursday, the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee subtly threatened attendees.
Oluomo had advised Southeast voters who supported the opposition to stay inside on election day.
Tomorrow, countrywide elections for the governor’s office and the house of representatives will be held.
Oluomo said in a video on Friday that because the APC need the support of other ethnic groups, he could not have threatened non-Yorubas.
At a meeting I went to yesterday, I was speaking to my sister, Mama Chukwudi (shown with him in the video).
“I then saw myself on social media. I’m always at peace, so kindly. You’ll note that Lagos is calm, so how am I supposed to convince people not to cast ballots?
“The APC is my party. I won’t be participating in the conversation you’re starting. The individual to whom I was referring is present. I summoned her to come and explain,” he continued.
