Lawmakers agreed to organize a public hearing involving various stakeholders such as the state government, police, judiciary, and traditional rulers to find urgent solutions to this problem.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, expressed concern over the violence and injustice caused by land grabbers, who invade properties, harm people, and manipulate the legal system.
He emphasized the need for compensation for landowners whose properties are taken over by the government in the public interest, as land is a valuable asset that can help people escape poverty.
