In a surprising development, Lagos State Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa has been impeached. Details emerge on the decision shaking Nigeria’s political landscape.

The Lagos State House of Assembly members have removed Speaker Mudashiru Obasa from his position.

The legislators are alleging that Obasa committed several statutory and financial violations.

According to Peoples Gazette, the lawmakers have replaced Obasa with his Deputy, Lasbat Meranda.

Meranda, a representative of Apapa Constituency 1, also previously served as the chief whip of the House.
