The killing of a young woman in her early 20s (whose name has been withheld) at a hotel in Adamawa State has been confirmed by the police.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, issued a statement on Friday in Yola, confirming the incident.
According to reports, the perpetrator, believed to be a ritualist, had checked the deceased into the hotel, engaged in sexual intercourse with her, and then beheaded her.
He then left the hotel premises, pretending to buy toilet tissue. When the ritualist failed to return, the receptionist and other staff entered his room and discovered the headless body of the young woman in a pool of blood.
CP Afolabi Babatola, the state Commissioner of Police, has strongly condemned the act and has ordered an immediate investigation to apprehend the perpetrator.
Babatola has also urged hoteliers to report individuals with questionable character to the police for prompt action and has vowed to capture the suspect.
The Command remains committed to safeguarding the lives and property of the people, and efforts are being made by the top management of security agencies in the state to apprehend the suspect.
