On Iganmu Road in the Orile region of Lagos state, there is a fire at the Ladipo Pako Market.

Sources claim that Tuesday night is when the fire broke out.

As stated by Adeseye Margaret, the director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the event was reported on Tuesday at 11:45 p.m.

In her words, fire teams from the agency’s Sari Iganmu, Ajegunle, Ilupeju, and Bolade stations worked together to put out the nighttime fire with help from LASEMA and the Federal Fire Service.

In spite of the dry season and the flammable components involved, such as inflammatory wood polish, the sawmill market, which also deals in building supplies, is able to contain the fire quickly while still meeting the firefighters’ skill level, the spokeswoman indicated.

While the exercise is being mopped up and is nearing the dampening down stage, the source of the fire cannot be determined immediately; the cost and inventory of the damaged goods will also be disclosed.

“As more information is subsequently released, no casualties have been reported in this operation.”

Due to “reckless waste disposal, unhygienic premises, and non-payment of waste bills,” the state government shuttered the Ladipo market, which was reopened lately.

Asserting regulatory compliance in markets throughout the state is a continuous endeavour, according to Tokunbo Wahab, commissioner for environment and water resources, who had announced the development.
