Labour Party Wins Majority Votes in Bauchi LG Election Despite Lack of Candidate
In a surprising turn of events, the Labour Party secured the most votes in Bauchi’s local government election, even though they had no official candidate running. This result highlights the party’s growing influence in the region.
Despite not putting forth any candidate, the Labour Party has emerged victorious in Bogoro councillorship election held at Lusa B Ward of Bogoro Local Government Area by securing the highest number of votes.
As a result, the winner of the election for councillor representing Lusa B Ward was announced by Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) as Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had originally come in second place.
Daniel Gambo, the returning officer at Bogoro’s collation centre, declared that the Labour Party secured 2,200 votes despite not having a candidate. PDP’s Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf came in second with just 2,168 votes.
With 275 votes, Mbam Masoyi from the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured third place in the election.
