The Labour Party in Kogi State has denied rumours that 21 local government chairmen switched from the party to the APC, which is currently in power.

Idakwo Emmanuel, the Labour Party’s state publicity secretary, made this announcement to the media on Friday in Lokoja.

The party’s governorship candidate, Barrister Adejoh Okeme, has no intention of collapsing his structure for any opposition party, he claimed, calling the reports false and deceptive.

“How can the identical group of 21 LGA chairmen defect to the APC three times, with the identical individuals in the photos going around?” He queried.

Emmanuel said, “We witnessed such rumour making the rounds some time ago, before the presidential election, last month the same rumour, and only yesterday we had the same group of people in images making such rounds.

The only news that the ruling party, the APC, and other political parties in Kogi State have to report right now is that either some Obidient Movement supporters are supporting them or some Labour Party members are defecting to the APC.

The Labour Party movement is organic and destined to librate the decent people of the state, hence this is the only selling point for political parties in Kogi State.

He emphasised that the Labour Party is concentrated on topics that would protect the state’s good citizens.

He asserts that propaganda and false information are being used by the state’s ruling party as well as other opposition parties to mislead and divert party members, sympathisers, and members of the public.

No amount of propaganda will be able to stop us from transforming this state from one of consumption into one of productivity and prosperity, according to lawyer Adejoh Okeme.

In his words, “The Labour Party platform is devoid of divisions in ethnicity and religion, and it is a truth that a fruitful Kogi is conceivable and attainable with the mandate of OkemeHamza.
