Labour Party: Federal High Court’s dismissal of Alex Otti judgment has been suspended by the Appeal Court
The ruling of a Federal High Court invalidating the Abia State Labour Party (LP) primary that produced Alex Otti and other candidates has been put on hold by the Court of Appeal in Kano.
Justice Mbaba reached the ruling on Saturday and approved Alex Otti’s request to appeal as an interested person.
While the appeal is heard and decided, the Federal High Court’s decision has been temporarily suspended.
The Court of Appeal’s ruling came in response to the Abia Governor-Elect’s request for leave, which asked for authorization to appeal the Kano Division of the Federal High Court’s decision in Suit No. FHC/KN/CS/107/2023 as an interested party.
The verdict rendered by Justice Yunusa J. of the lower court has also been ordered suspended by the Appellate Court.
Until the appeal for which leave has been granted is heard and decided, this suspension will be in place.
