Amid rising tensions over the fuel price hike, Nigerian labour leaders convene an urgent meeting with the Federal Government to address concerns and seek possible resolutions.
The leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) are engaged in high-level discussions with the Federal Government to address urgent national concerns, especially regarding the increasing petrol prices and their economic consequences.
According to OBASANJONEWS, the meeting is being held at the office of George Akume, who serves as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Attending the discussions are senior government officials, such as the National Security Adviser, Labour Minister, Finance Minister, Information Minister, and Ministers of State for Petroleum and Gas. Additionally, representatives from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited are present.
The meeting aims to tackle the growing worries of labor unions and Nigerian citizens about how rising petrol prices are negatively impacting the country’s economy and daily life.
