The remarks come amid rumours that Yusuf would not be impartial as governor due to the influence of his predecessor.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has told the residents of Kano State that he won’t meddle with Abba Yusuf’s forthcoming administration.

Former Kano governor Kwankwaso, who is regarded as the godfather of the next governor, said he would only offer counsel when requested.

“Even if you choose your cleaner to be the leader, you shouldn’t become involved. In a press interview, the presidential hopeful said, “If he asks for your opinion, you’ll provide it; if he doesn’t, you should keep quiet.

The former governor of Kano continued by saying that if he saw the new administration erring, he would oppose it.

We in Kano State are all grateful to God for bringing them out, and we are asking him to keep them far away from us. We won’t tolerate disrespect from whoever is in charge in Kano, whether it’s the military or someone else, he added.

Consequently, whether it is Abba or someone else in power, we shall inform him of everything that is right and inform him of anything that is wrong. What I do know is that the mistakes made by the previous administration will be fixed.

Kwankwaso’s remarks came amid rumours that Yusuf would not be an autonomous governor due to the influence of his predecessor.
