Kortrijk appoints Akpala, ex-Super Eagle, as caretaker coach
KV Kortrijk, a Belgian Pro League team, has appointed former Super Eagles attacker Joseph Akpala as its interim head coach.
Akpala will assume interim leadership of De Kerels after to Glen De Boeck’s dismissal.
Boeck was fired as a result of the team’s dismal performance.

With no wins in their previous six games, KV Kortrijk is wallowing in the bottom spot.
This season, Akpala will be leading the team for the third time.
Before the season began, the 37-year-old was the head coach in temporary position.
Early in the season, the Nigerian also assumed interim leadership of the squad following Edward Still’s dismissal for subpar play.
When Akpala hosts Westerlo in a league match on Friday (today), they will be looking to lead Kortrijk to victory.
