The Kogi Government has made Thursday, December 29, a public holiday so that people can better welcome President Muhammadu Buhari, who will be in the state to open legacy projects.

Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the state’s commissioner for information and communications, revealed this information in a statement he made on Sunday in Lokoja.

Fanwo urged the populace of Kogi to turn out in large numbers to welcome the president and exhibit the graciousness that the region was known for.

Additionally, he exhorted the state’s labour unions and security organisations to enforce strict compliance.

His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, is the President of Nigeria and the Head of the Nigerian Armed Forces. On December 29, he will be in Kogi to open legacy projects all over the state.

“In light of this and in order to guarantee the President’s arrival without a hitch, the Kogi government, led by Governor Yahaya Bello, wishes to announce that Thursday, December 29 has been declared a public holiday.

“The choice is intended to make it possible for the state’s citizens to receive our president.”

“We kindly request full compliance from all of our security organisations and labour unions.

According to Fanwo, “the President will be appointing life-changing legacy initiatives all around the state.” (NAN)
