The Kogi State chapter of the PDP is reportedly moving to suspend Senator Dino Melaye, describing him as a ‘liability’ to the party, amid ongoing internal conflicts.

According to the Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Dino Melaye is considered a burden.

The PDP elders, headed by Ibrahim Dansofo in the state, advised the Ijumu local executive committee to commence prompt suspension procedures against Melaye.

According to them, this would accentuate the importance of reviving the party’s credibility and concentrating on competent leadership.

Melaye announced on Saturday that the former ruling party has been dismantled by Iliya Damagum, Samuel Anyanwu and Umar Bature, who act as national chairman of PDP.

According to Melaye, the three chieftains have dealt a fatal blow to PDP.

The party elders criticized Melaye’s statement and asserted that his political aspirations are now in shambles, as he is unable to win even a local councilor position.

According to the Dansofo-led elders, Melaye is deemed a liability who uses his affiliation with the party solely for personal gain by negotiating with the ruling party rather than making valuable contributions towards PDP’s progress.

The party has been burdened by Senator Melaye.

Dansofo stated that his allegations against the present administration are contradictory since he was given a governorship ticket despite the party’s knowledge of his incapability to prevail in even one primary election.

The Kogi PDP attributed the party’s current challenges entirely to Melaye, alleging that his selection was a major blunder resulting in their existing dilemma.

Additionally, they requested that the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa reconsider their endorsement of Melaye and advised them to dissociate themselves from an individual who has been labeled as a “detention” and a significant burden on the party.

The Nigerian public was urged to ignore Melaye’s comments, which were branded as the desperate utterances of a man who has lost his political influence.

They added that the Kogi PDP is resolute in forging ahead, regaining its power and restoring its name as a dominant political entity within the state. The stakeholders are requesting Dino Melaye to provide an account of the billions he received under the guise of governorship election funds.
