Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has recently introduced a security initiative with the aim of curbing the increase in criminal activities within Lokoja and other major towns in the state.

This initiative, known as the ‘Metropolitan Quick Response,’ is a collaborative effort between the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police and the Joint Task Force of security agencies operating in Kogi State.
The launch of the Metropolitan Quick Response operation took place at the Government House in Lokoja, where Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to effectively combatting criminal elements within the state.
He emphasized that the safety and security of the residents of Kogi State are paramount and that every possible measure will be taken to ensure that the people can rest peacefully without fear.
Governor Ododo highlighted that the initiation of the Metropolitan Quick Response (MQR) is a significant step forward in enhancing the safety and security of lives and properties not only in Lokoja Metropolis but also in other areas across the state.
He emphasized the importance of building upon the existing security framework to create a secure environment for all residents.
The Governor expressed the government’s firm resolve to eradicate criminal activities from every corner of Kogi State, emphasizing that no efforts will be spared in guaranteeing the safety and security of every individual within the state.
He made it clear that Kogi State will not be a safe haven for criminal elements, and stringent measures will be implemented to ensure a crime-free environment.
Governor Ododo also took the opportunity to commend the security agencies operating in the state for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining law and order.
He assured them of the government’s continuous support and appreciation for their relentless efforts in safeguarding the state and its residents.
