Kogi Guber: Reasons for not challenging APC’s victory at the tribunal
Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate in the just-completed Kogi governorship election, has stated that he has lost faith in the court and would not challenge the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) electoral victory on November 11.
Melaye stated that the judiciary is no longer the final resort for common Nigerians when making this statement on Wednesday.
Melaye stated, “The judiciary is now a department under the All Progressives Congress, not the last hope of the common people.”
“Given that the APC has control of the courts, why should any responsible person appear before the tribunal? I no longer have any faith whatsoever in the judiciary.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proclaimed APC candidate Usman Ododo the victor of the gubernatorial contest.
To win, Ododo overcame Melaye and Muri Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
