The poll, according to Murtala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party’s candidate for Kogi State’s governorship on November 11, 2023, was manipulated to benefit All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Usman Ododo.
Ajaka stated that contesting the poll’s results in court is pointless because the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will testify to support the results of the poll. Ajaka made her appearance on Channels Television’s The 2023 Verdict on Sunday night.

“You promised me transparency in the election, let me waste time, money, and effort organising my supporters, and then all you had to do was write the results. You anticipate my supporters to be pleased, even if I’m not depressed about it. “I promise that if they continue to let things the way they are in every state right now, they are calling for chaos in this nation,” he remarked.
The highly disputed poll’s winner, Ododo, was announced by INEC last night. Ajaka, Ododo’s closest opponent, received 259,052 votes, while Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 46,362 votes. Ododo won with 446,237 votes.
But according to Ajaka, the numbers were manipulated to benefit APC candidate and departing governor Yahaya Bello’s ally.
More than 130,000 votes were cast in the Okene Local Government. Aho! Less than 30,000 people are listed on the BVAS, and INEC accepted that result, he added.
“I doubt there will be an election in 2027 if they don’t conduct a checklist, look into the actions of their personnel who went to Kogi State, and respect the integrity of the INEC chairman. I worry that Somalia will become a kid’s game because people would go into that election armed.
The SDP candidate continued, “If we had known it would be the same old music, we would have played along with that old music by inflating the results from my area.”
