The elementary, secondary, and university institutions in Kogi State will remain closed from Friday, November 10, to Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in observance of the next gubernatorial election.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, released the directive in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Jones, the shutdown is being implemented to guarantee a calm and suitable atmosphere for the holding of the election. All eligible voters were asked to fulfil their civic obligation and take part in the election process.
The commissioner stated that on Wednesday, November 15, classes will continue as usual.
