Former Kogi State lawmakers and Simon Achuba, a former deputy governor, have promised to topple the political dynasty they claim Governor Yahaya Bello is establishing.
Speaking to reporters on Friday in Abuja, Achuba made this statement just after dozens of the state’s former House of Assembly members officially announced that they would be mobilising in support of Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Muritala Ajaka in the November 11 governorship race.

The former deputy governor expressed dissatisfaction with the governor’s treatment of serving legislators in the state, claiming that the assembly complex in the state capital of Lokoja does not provide House of Assembly members with appropriate offices.
He claimed that the Confluence State would never again see an instance where someone was being forced upon the majority of Kogi people and the judiciary was being coerced.
The group, which included members from the state’s three senatorial districts and was led by Hon. Simon Atadoga, asserted that Ajaka had the power to restore the state to its rightful place as the envy of other federation states.
