Kogi State’s newly hired teachers have been advised to wait patiently since they would soon receive their wages.

In a statement on Friday, Comrade (Dr.) Matthew Ranti Ojo, the Kogi State Chairman of Academic Staff Union Of Secondary School (ASUSS), made the request.

Comrade Ojo added that although the union is mindful of the current financial difficulties Nigerians are facing, the delay in salary payment was caused by a few hiccups.

He claims that the issues have been resolved, and the funds would be transferred to each secondary teacher’s account shortly.

He urged to the instructors to remain focused and committed to carrying out their responsibilities while also acknowledging the distress this development must have given them.

The statement states, “We deeply regret the inconvenience caused and sympathise with the newly hired Secondary Teachers whose salary has been delayed owing to unforeseen circumstances. The union is aware of the difficult economic conditions that Nigerian workers currently endure.

“For this reason, the Union is not giving up on ensuring that their salaries are received as soon as possible. We are working with the government to make sure that the payment is made right away. They have completed all the necessary paperwork and will shortly start getting notifications from their numerous bank accounts.

However, Ojo urged Kogi State’s secondary school teachers to view their jobs as a call from the All-Powerful God, stressing that educators continue to be nation builders who set the pace for progress in any nation.

He reaffirmed the union’s dedication to the well-being of secondary school teachers in Kogi State, highlighting the fact that teachers would always be happy to have chosen the profession under his leadership.
