The Kogi State Action Alliance (AA) has broken ties with its candidate, Olayinka Ibrahimoh, following the latter’s filing of a lawsuit to oppose Usman Ododo, the victor of the governorship election on November 11.
The decision was made during an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the party’s national publicity secretary, Olu Omotoso.

According to the statement, the party’s national chairman, Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, clarified the party’s stance by stating that the AA is not inclined to take legal action against Alhaji Usman Ododo, the incoming governor.
He clarified that Ibrahimoh conducted his business without seeking advice from the party after winning the election.
“From the moment INEC published the final list of candidates for the Kogi gubernatorial election, Olayinka Ibrahimoh, our adopted candidate for that election, deliberately built an edge around himself against the party, making it difficult to relate with him,” Omoaje said, expressing dissatisfaction with Ibrahimoh’s decision to approach the judiciary without the party’s endorsement.
He described the efforts made by the party to interact with Ibrahimoh, claiming that the latter declined to work with the organization’s officials.
He related a situation in which, while his team was in Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Isa, the Deputy National Chairman, was left without communication.
He declared, “In light of the foregoing, we are categorically declaring that our party, the Action Alliance, has no involvement in the case before the Kogi State governorship election tribunal and that we have no interest in the matter at all.”
