King Charles of Britain was installed in his throne on Saturday in Westminster Abbey, just like a great number of other kings before him. Elizabeth, Charles’ mother, who was crowned seventy years ago, was the last monarch to be crowned.

The extravagant event was filled with prayers, majesty music, robed clergy, and young boys’ and girls’ high-pitched singing voices.

The coronation is a weekend-long event with lots of planned activities. Although it is said to be a scaled-down version of what was initially planned, it is nevertheless thought to cost the British taxpayers several million dollars.

The first king to publicly pray at his coronation was Charles. Grant that I may be a blessing to all thy children, of all faiths and beliefs, that together we may learn the ways of gentleness and be guided into the paths of peace, was part of his prayer.

The coronation was broadcast on television and the internet for millions of people to see.

Many people were curious about Harry, Charles’ son, and his participation in the wedding. Just before the ceremony started, Harry entered the room with other royals and took a seat with them.

Since Harry and his American wife Meghan Markle disclosed more information about the royal family’s inner workings than many members of the family would have liked, relations between Harry and the royal family have been tense.

Prince of Wales William, Harry’s brother, took part in the event. William bowed down before his father following Charles’ coronation and swore allegiance to him.

Charles wore a 2.2 kg (5 lbs) solid gold crown that was encrusted with priceless gems. King Charles II was crowned for the first time in 1661, using a crown.

By the end of the coronation, he was wearing a different crown, one that his forebears had worn frequently for ceremonial occasions.

At the event, Camilla was also crowned. After being crowned, she bowed down to the king.

However, not everyone appreciates the coronation’s extravagant financial show. There is rising discontent that the monarchy has outlived its usefulness and relevance, particularly among younger Britons. Undoubtedly, some of the applauding crowd was jeering the event.

Since 1066, Westminster has served as the location of every British monarch’s coronation. The coronation was open to other world leaders, royalty, dignitaries, celebrities, and artists. The first lady of Ukraine accompanied American first lady Jill Biden as they entered Westminster.

Before the event started, the abbey was the subject of extensive television coverage, which revealed several attendees wearing various outfits, including caftans and kilts.

Old customs and modern inventions were combined at the service at Westminster Abbey.

The event included brand-new songs by renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, and a gospel choir gave a performance.

Charles and Camilla returned to Buckingham Palace after the service, where they will make a customary balcony appearance.

According to the British police, 11,000 officers will be on duty all day.
