She had talked to other women who looked like her on social media and tried to get them to meet her by making “false promises.”

As new information about the unusual case that originally came to light last year emerges, authorities have revealed that a German-Iraqi lady killed a lookalike she discovered on social media to fake her own death.

In August, the body of a 23-year-old woman with several stab wounds was discovered in a car in the Bavarian town of Ingolstadt.
The victim was initially assumed to be the car’s owner by the police, but the next day they discovered she was another person who remarkably resembled her.

A 23-year-old Kosovan male and a German-Iraqi guy were detained on suspicion of manslaughter.

Police are looking into the idea that the two people killed the woman because they found her online and thought she looked like the German-Iraqi.

Investigators now think that the female suspect wanted to go into hiding and fake her death because of problems with her family, according to a statement released on Monday.

The police said that she had used social media to make “false promises” to other women who looked like her in order to get them to meet her.

Early in August, she made contact with the victim and planned to meet up with her on August 16.

The Kosovan guy and the German-Iraqi woman went to the victim’s home in Heilbronn, which is close to Stuttgart, to pick her up.

They allegedly lured her out of the car in a forested area on the way back to Ingolstadt, killed her, and administered “a big number” of knife wounds.

The corpse was discovered in the car that evening in Ingolstadt after the suspects had continued on there.

The German-Iraqi was a beautician who lured the victim onto Instagram by promising her cosmetics, according to the daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

According to the newspaper, both ladies had “length brown hair, a dark complexion, and a highly made-up face.”
