Kidnappers Kill Banker, Abandon Body on Roadside Despite Ransom Payment

Tragedy as kidnappers murder a banker and dump the body on a roadside even after collecting ransom, sparking outrage and renewed calls for action against insecurity in Nigeria.

A banker named Ifeoma has been tragically killed by kidnappers in Anambra State, despite her family reportedly paying a ransom for her release.

Ifeoma was kidnapped in Onitsha, after which the abductors demanded and received a ransom.

However, human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishi reported that the attackers killed her despite receiving payment and left her body near Ideani junction on the Nnobi/Alor road.

Gwamnishi conveyed the tragic news on Facebook, sharing an image of the woman’s body lying lifeless by the roadside. This post highlighted the growing problem of kidnappings and violence in the area.

Ifeoma, a banker, was kidnapped in Anambra State. Despite her family paying the demanded ransom, her captors tragically took her life and left her body near Ideani Junction on Nnobi/Alor Road in Anambra.

“Tragic loss of life continues daily, and it’s disheartening that no action is being taken to stop these killings. WHO WILL BE NEXT? If we remain inactive, this may eventually affect you too,” he wrote.

In the meantime, Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the situation and emphasized that the body had been removed from the road.

Ikenga stated that the command was informed about an abandoned female body discovered on the Nnobi-Alor Road, reportedly left by suspected kidnappers.

“The body has been removed, the photos have been shared with higher authorities, and investigations are underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.”
