The security situation at the Idodo boundary axis of the Abakaliki-Enugu expressway has significantly worsened due to the criminal activities of kidnappers who have turned the area into a den of terror.

This has led to a suspension of trips by journalists and other road users who usually travel along this route, as the risk of being kidnapped has become too high.

The kidnappers, operating in a guerilla-style, strike without warning and have instilled fear in anyone attempting to pass through the area, causing a standstill in movements to and from Ebonyi state.

A source, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the kidnappers have become more emboldened, carrying out their nefarious activities over a span of two days.

They are known to lay low for extended periods before launching sudden attacks, catching their victims off guard.
