In July 2021, bandits abducted 121 students from Bethel Baptist High School in Maraban Damishi village, located in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Among them was Treasure.

The student was believed to have been released on Friday and had already been reunited with his family.

Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, has already expressed gratitude for being liberated from the kidnappers.

Governor Sani thanked God for his heavenly intervention and also thanked the individuals and organisations that have been persistent in their efforts and prayers to guarantee the safe return of the kidnappee.

Over the past two years, there have been numerous school abductions throughout the region, notably Kaduna, that resulted in the kidnapping of hundreds of pupils.

After receiving payment, nearly all of the students who had been held captive for weeks or months were set free. It was unclear, though, if Treasure’s release was paid for.
